FAQ

Shipping:

Shipping is not included in the price. This will be requested after you purchase an artwork and provide your details. I will contact you through paypal once I have a quote from the shipper.

Framing:

I think framing is a personal choice.
Certain works are framed and noted.
Certain works are meant to hang unframed (such as those with gold leaf edges) although they can also be framed.
For the most part pieces are sold unframed, unless noted.
If you would like a piece framed, I have excellent and reasonable framers here in Florence and I can work with you on making an excellent choice. This will be an additional cost.

A note on Materials:

All materials used are archival and professional quality.
Most paintings are painted using highly pigmented brands such as Old Holland or Michael Hardings.
If mounted, I use Rublev mounting adhesive.
While most paintings are unvarnished, if varnished, I typically use gamvar by Gamblin.
I do not use lead white for landscapes.
All wood panels, on which paint is applied directly to the panel, are gessoed with real gesso.
Paintings on paper are either sized with Michael Hardings non absorbent primer or PVA size.

A note from me, the Artist:

The works you find on these pages were created with care, design, thoughtfulness and sometimes a lot of frustration in trying to capture the essence of the subject. Each has a story.

For all the plein air, you can imagine me freezing, sweating, enduring mosquitoes, or being pestered by tourists or motorists….and sometimes, it’s quiet, the light magical and I can stand there and soak up the beauty and history unfolding before me.

Therefore, I hope you enjoy the plain truths in my work as much as I struggled to be truthful to my subject.

If you don’t find what you are looking for, please contact me as I may have others unlisted for various reasons or I could do a commission.
